The Fall meeting of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club was held at Mass Audubon's Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester on Saturday, September 20th. Thanks to all who attended.

The potluck spread was bountiful and delicious. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this delicious spread – from appetizers to dessert. Special thanks to Lauren and Andy Griffith for bringing several tasty dishes, making sure we had enough no matter what.

Our guest speaker Sam Jaffe presented "Seeking New Lepidopteran
Sam Jaffe Life Histories with Sam Jaffe of The Caterpillar Lab”. Many thanks to Sam for an engaging, enthusiastic, and thoughtful presentation where he shared some exciting and strange new finds from his work and travels, including numerous never before seen caterpillars and undescribed species from across the eastern United States.

Congratulations to Madeline Champagne, recipient of the first Massachusetts Butterfly Club Butterfly Champion Award. Madeline, a long-time club member and former president and vice president, has been running the Monarch Guardians program for many years, educating the public and encouraging them about ways to raise and support Monarchs. For more about the Monarch Guardian Program, go to https://www.massbutterflies.org/monarch-guardians.asp. Madeline was given a beautiful tote bag featuring the monarch life cycle, a creation of Nan Wilson. Nan’s work can be found here: https://www.thistledownstudio.com .

Thanks to the many contributors and to editor, Bill Benner for pulling this issue of Massachusetts Butterflies together. See our website https://www.massbutterflies.org/merchandise-journals.asp to order a copy if you are not a member.
