The Fall meeting of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club was held on October 17, 2026.

Michael C. LaScaleia Our guest speaker Michael C. LaScaleia presented Invasive Plants, Native Controls.
Invasive plants have spread across New England, and some butterflies and moths have followed them in. These insects could act as biological control agents that nobody released, and yet the plants keep winning.

Officer elections were held at the meeting.
The Officers:
President - Peter Loshin
Vice President East - Calvin Yang (new officer)
Vice President West - Don Board (new officer)
Secretary - Barbara Volkle
Treasurer - Joe Wicinski

Special thanks to our two "retiring" officers: Kristin Steinmetz and Carol Duke. Their work on club trip schedules, July count schedules and other tasks is a tough time consuming job.

We also have a new journal editor Andrew Griffith. He replaces Bill Benner who has done an exemplary job on the journal for the last 14 years. Thank you Bill!! Tough shoes to fill for Andrew.
